Glencar construction company has been given a £125 million contract to build the new LHR21 facility data centre near Heathrow Airport on a 1.2 acra London campus.
Construction on the six-storey and 18,000-square-metre centre will begin imminently. The project is expected to be completed in 2025. The win comes at a time when Glencar is poised to be among the top 100 performers in the UK. It turned over £418 million last year, a 260 percent increase over its previous £160 million turnover.
What Glencar CEO said about the project?
Glencar chief executive Eddie McGillycuddy said “Securing this project with Vantage Data Centers is a real milestone for Glencar as we enter the data-centre space. Many of our team have a wealth of experience in this sector but it is our first major scheme under the Glencar banner and Vantage has been an incredible partner since day one”.
Glencar is working with Essex Services Group
Glencar has also partnered up with building services contractor Essex Services Group (ESG) to deliver the project. A ESG spokesman said “Our involvement through the planning and preconstruction phase, coupled with our in-depth knowledge of highly-specialist industrial, pharmaceutical and temperature-controlled facilities such as this, has enabled us to bring forward an effective programme to deliver this scheme. We also very much look forward to work Glencare and getting started on their site in the coming weeks”.
